This was a new build project set in the Northamptonshire countryside and included for the design and supply of kitchen and laundry room as well as bathrooms, en-suites and cloakroom.
For a family who love cooking, practicality is of prime concern in a kitchen. Each item, appliance and accessory’s purpose, position and storage location was planned out in advance to ensure that we made the most of the space and everything had its place in the space. This would ensure that the kitchen would not only look amazing but would also be very functional.
It was important for the clients that the kitchen became the hub of the home, so within this beautiful living space we needed to include a dining space which then linked on to a playroom so that the client could still keep an eye on her very small children while cooking delicious meals. The design will also help and encourage the children to join in with cooking activities as they grow older. The client was very keen to incorporate an Everhot cast iron electric range cooker into the kitchen and this helped add to the cosiness of the space, giving off heat and encouraging people into the space, it also makes a great feature and focal point to the room.
The client also loves to bake! The bespoke design pantry unit now houses a plethora of baking ingredients as well as herbs and spices for cooking while we also created a specific home for the regularly-used Kitchen Aid.
The fantastic Dekton work surface really tied in with the travertine flooring and was a perfect addition to the kitchen thanks to its heat resistant properties its overall and durability. It was all linked together with a combination of oyster- and anthracite-coloured modern shaker doors while the graphite finish on the Everhot really popped with the oyster doors and oyster surround. The back wall was painted in the same anthracite colour tied together the whole design and created a great design feature.
Laundry Room
The laundry room room needed to cater for the whole family with two small girls as well as two cats and a dog so this room needed to not only function as a laundry room, but also as a pet room. The remit was to include the biggest sink possible for cleaning garden bits and muddy boots after country walks so a lovely big Belfast sink did the trick along with the Hansgrohe pull-out tap with its flexible, extendable hose and button switch making cleaning a breeze. Storage within the laundry room was also important and the bespoke pull-out under counter unit proved a perfect place for detergents with separate shelves for pet items to tick all boxes.
Cloakroom The cloakroom needed to create that ‘wow-factor’ as a reflection of the client’s lovely new home for when guests come over. The client found some beautiful wallpaper which was combined with bold blue paint and an oak shelf while the same wallpaper was also used in the boot room as a feature wall while the offcuts were framed and put up in the hallway which tied the three spaces together to give a real flow to the home. A Geberit rimless, wall-hung toilet was specified as they are super easy to keep clean and paired with a compact basin and a Titane finished towel rail.
THE CLIENT'S VIEW
"We are absolutely thrilled with our beautiful kitchen. Hannah helped us to achieve everything we wanted; the kitchen is a great space to work in and flows seamlessly into our dining area and the adjoining playroom. The contrasting oyster and anthracite units give the kitchen a simple, chic feel; with features that add a touch of country charm, such as the stunning mantle which frames our Everhot oven beautifully. The ingenious storage options and appliances have ensured the kitchen is well organised and made cooking and entertaining a breeze."
