Kew Gardens

This project at Kew Gardens, Surrey included the mix of a new contemporary kitchen into an extension of a beautiful period property.

The existing property and extension featured lovely high ceilings which presented a fantastic space for the new kitchen installation into the side elevation extension of the property. There’s a lovely green bush partition just outside the window which helps to form a unique 'picture frame' behind the sink.

Hidden Storage

The clients had a couple of expensive items which they wanted to be incorporating into the kitchen space without affecting the aesthetics and practicality of the design.

A coffee station was ingeniously hidden into the side elevation of the bank of units while the clever food mixer was installed into a fully-integrated feature so that it was incorporated within the units so it could be tucked away seamlessly when not required.

Lights On Lighting was a key consideration in this project. The bespoke 'picture frame' window was made specifically to fit with the kitchen and allowed a beautiful mitred window sill detail in Silestone, while allowing more natural light into the space.

A combination of up and down lighting was developed into the design, this along with the large Velux windows and the vaulted ceilings really adds to the drama of this kitchen.

THE CLIENT'S VIEW

"We travelled up from Kew Gardens to see Lisa at the Kuche & Bagno showroom in Rugby and she and her team were fantastic during our consultation.

We had put some thought in to the layout of our new kitchen extension but Lisa immediately identified improvements in the design, incorporating some great features into the final plan. We already had a layout from a competitor company but the design was nothing in comparison to what Kuche & Bagno produced. The attention to detail made the difference between an average kitchen and the brilliant one we have today. Kuche & Bagno turned the design around really quickly to the point of order, with full working drawings for my builder, which was great as we were on an extremely tight schedule."

NOTES FROM THE DESIGNER

"This couple had a brilliant space to work with.

To incorporate the picture frame window into the kitchen design brings a vibrant green to the pastel colours.

The vented hob is a great idea which combines induction technology with an extractor all in one appliance."
